Through My Eyes

February 15th, 2005

Some illnesses, only by mention, raise negative emotional impact for quite some people, forming thereby an already determined image of the ills. That type of image is often being reproduced through the media and even through artworks. Exhibition Through my eyes flips over this stereotypical division of roles and puts the ill into the active position, the position of ones who perceived them self’s, their immediate surroundings and the world around them, creating their world view using the photo camera. The level of invention and creativity in their work does not disclose at first glance that they are children in the long term medical treatment. Through the media of photography as a conveyer of images between the world of healthy and the world of ill, it is possible to build a bridge of communication and understanding. the exhibition is organized in cooperation with the National Association of Cancer affected children’s parents.
