Photo Workshops for Young in South Serbia Region

This project is conceived as a creative educational program for young in an unstable region with unsolved ethnic problems that could help in establishing the dialogue and communication between the citizens of different national groups. Photo exhibition with the work of young participants of the workshop held in Bujanovac during 2005 will be presented in O3ONE Gallery on September 21st – 23rd. Participants were young from this region, from the age of 15 to 18, from different local ethnic groups: Serbian, Albanian, and Roma. During the four months of work, participants were working together on the same task exploring and discussing the same issues concerning their lives, habits, fears, and hopes. This was the first program of this kind in the South Serbia region using photography as a medium for communication. As a part of the exhibition, the publication with their photos and project results will be presented.

KIOSK NGO is a non-governmental, non-profit organization working in the fields of arts and culture. The major goal of the KIOSK NGO is wide cooperation between artists from all fields of modern art and cultural workers whose engagement could contribute to presenting and solving the social and political problems of modern society. One of the major beliefs of the organization is that every kind of artistic activity and vision can provide a better understanding between different social groups and nations that are divided by either social differences or conflicts.
