An Education in Illustration

Lawrence Zeegen is an illustrator, educator, writer and artist’s agent. Why is illustration such a hot topic? Who are the major contemporary influences and what is the link between illustration and design? How can Serbian image-makers promote themselves in New York, London and Berlin? The speaker:

Illustrating since graduation from the Royal College of Art, London, in 1989, Zeegen’s clients include major international newspapers, magazines, book publishers, design companies and advertising agencies.

As an Academic Programme Leader at the University of Brighton, UK, Zeegen leads undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Graphic Design, Illustration and Photography. Zeegen has lectured internationally, speaking at conferences in Australia, India, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Turkey, and Singapore.

Zeegen is the author of two books- Digital Illustration – A Master Class in Creative Image-Making [Rotovision] and The Fundamentals of Illustration [AVA] both published in 2005. Zeegen has also written regularly for publications that include Computer Arts, Digital Creative Arts, Creative Review and MacFormat. He has written on contemporary illustration for books that include Images Annual 28, and Clin D’Oeil.
