Henkel Central Eastern Europe has annually been granting an international art prize for the Central Eastern European and Central Asian region since 2002. The 2005 Henkel Art.Award., as well as the 2005 Henkel Youth Artist’s Prize, have been granted to artists from Serbia.Henkel Art. Award 2005 was granted to Petar Mirković Henkel Youth Artist’s Prize (Artists-in-Residence) 2005 was granted to Aleksandrija Ajduković.
International Art Award (granted by Henkel CEE, based in Vienna), was granted last year for the domain of contemporary drawing, to Petar Mirković from Serbia. The jury selected him out of 290 applicants from 12 countries.
Henkel Youth Artist’s Prize for the KulturKontakt Artists-in-Residence program participants in Austria was also awarded to an artist from Serbia – Aleksandrija Ajduković, a photographer.
Henkel considers its art prize to be a contribution to the process of European integration and the cultural understanding of the Central East Europan region. Petar Mirković and Aleksandrija Ajduković will exhibit their works at O3ONE – Belgrade on October 20th – 30th, 2006.
Petar Mirković was born in 1978, Novi Sad. In 2002 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Novi Sad. So far he has exhibited in Paris, Tokyo, Vienna, and Belgrade.
