Elena Filipović is an art historian, critic, and curator from New York, USA, who currently lives in Brussels and works on her final Ph.D. at Princeton University, New Jersey. The co-author (together with Barbar Vanderlinden) recently published the study “The Manifesta Decade: Debates on Contemporary Art Exhibitions and Biennials in Post-Wall Europe” by Roommate Brussels, and MIT Press (Boston, MA). Among her other projects, in which she participated as an assistant curator: Do You Believe In Reality? Taipei Biennial (2004), Utopia Station (50th Biennial in Venice, 2003), Haus der Kunst Munich (2004-05). She writes for Frieze magazine, as well as many other art publications. In addition to the preparations for the first Latin American retrospective by Marcelo Dishana at the PROA Foundation in Buenos Aires (2008), her latest exhibition project, Let Everything Be Temporary, will be realized at the beginning of 2007 within the Apex Art curatorial program in New York.
