In the series of lectures „The Popularization of Knowledge and Scientific Communication“ initiated in the Ph.D. program „History and Philosophy of Science and Technology“ in cooperation with O3ONE gallery, Predrag Milosavljević will give a lecture „Leonardo – A New Perspective; Symbolism as an Element of Synthesis of Art and Philosophy of Nature“.
The lecture is based on a presentation of study results which indicated that the implementation of the natural philosophic learning in the Renaissance period can be seen through the geometry of visual compositions. The geometry of the Renaissance works, seen as a bearer of the symbolic meaning, reveals new details regarding the level and meaning of Neoplatonism and neo-Pythagoreanism learning on which the shift was made in the development of science and during the period from 15th until the 17th century.
It is an original approach of our scientists and researchers considering the problems they encountered in the period of Renaissance in which Leonardo da Vinci had a key role. The meaning of the characters revealed last year on Leonardo’s famous painting Mona Lisa will be in the center of attention.
