Exhibition of photographs “Doha – my journey to discovery”

On Wednesday, December 18th, beginning at 17:00h, an independent exhibition of photographs by Jelena Dubajić and Ivan Čolakov, entitled Doha – my journey of discovery. On the occasion of the National Day of Qatar, an exhibition organized by the Association of Serbian – Qatar Friendship under the auspices of Qatar Airways.  

Architects Jelena Dubajić from Belgrade and Ivan Čolakov from Plovdiv will present a series of travel photographs at the O3ONE Gallery to the Belgrade audience. Two younger generation architects met in 2012 in an international team of architects who worked in Doha, Qatar, when photographs were created.  The surprising world of Doha is the powerful artistic incentive for the audience, a city that grows out of the desert. The exhibition will be opened by the Minister of Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić, and there will be numerous officials from the diplomatic corps and the sphere of public life.

Jelena Dubajić and Ivan Čolakov manage to intrigue and interest in a distant world. The experienced eye of an excellent architect successfully, through a photograph telling the story and introducing us into the culture of Qatar. An inseparable connection with European civilization is evident and integrated into the life of Doha, and two young architects who stayed there for a long time, discreetly, and wisely interpret their characteristics and successfully bring us closer.

About the artists
Jelena Dubajić (1975, Belgrade, Serbia), she graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in 2001, Belgarde. She graduated at the Polytechnic Faculty in 2014, Barcelona (UPC), where she continued her doctoral studies. She has worked in eminent domestic and international architectural studios, and she is currently employed at the ADC studio in Belgrade.

Ivan Čolakov (1986, Plovdiv, Bulgaria) graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in 2011, Sofia. During his studies, he spent the fifth year in Berlin for student exchange. So far he has worked on several projects in Bulgaria and abroad.
