Brave women travel through time II

Aleksandra Jovanić and Čarna Manojlović “BRAVE WOMEN travel through time II”, the exhibition opening on Thursday, March 1st, 2018 at 19h, the PRO3OR Gallery,  Koče Popovića 9.

“The project of  Aleksandra Jovanić and “Brave women travel through time II”. The attention of today’s observers is suggested by characters and endeavors of the famous (but essentially forgotten) women of our past.

Photographies/stages evoke selected persons, the atmosphere of their lives, but also their works”– Mileta Prodanović, writer and painter.  

By studying biographies and rich legacy significant women from our history (in the period from 1776. until 2002.), Čarna and Aleksandra were inspired to “crawl under their skin” and create imaginative scenes, displays of events from their lives. Thorugh seventy photographies they connect different periods, heroines and historical events, and thus also explore the relationship of past and present through the position of women in society.

Eustahija Arsić, Katarina Ivanović, Marija Trandafil, Mina Karadžić, Savka Subotić, Milica, and Anka Ninković, Draga Ljočić, Jelena Dimitrijević, Nadežda Petrović, Kasija Miletić, Jelisaveta Načić, Maga Magazinović, Mara Rosandić, Milunka Savić, Anica Savić Rebac, Ksenija Atanasijević, Zora Petrović, Danica Tomić, and Soja Jovanović they lived exicting lives thanks to theirs pioner achievment in different fields, that thereason they shouldnt bee forgotten.

In cooperation with photographers Ivana Tomanović, Maja Medić, Milica Mrvić, Ivan Todorovskim, Dragan Mandić, Simona Pavlović, Nikola Majdak, and Dalibor Tonković the journey of Brave Women was realized.

 “They decided to speak the interesting language of the genre” directed photos “. Thus art directed photography artifacts, with performance included by authors/actors create stages that incorporate Čarna’s and Aleksandra’s professional skills. One is a film director, and other is exceptional visual artists, and apart from drama scenes have clear drama elements” – Milutin Petrović, editor
